Challenge 25 @ [livejournal.com profile] landofart: This challenge is called The Sorting Hat because we'll be sorting fandom characters into .... HARRY POTTER HOUSES!

REQUIREMENTS
Each sorting MUST include the following;
- 1 image that is overall EXACTLY 500x500 in size (this one image can contain more than 1 image inside it, if you want)
- a 100 word or more description of why this character would/should/whatever be sorted into that specific house -- what characteristics fit, etc.

[1] Highlander: Duncan MacLeod
[1} Blake's 7: Avon

Fandom: Highlander
Character: Duncan MacLeod
Sorting: Gryffindor

Methos: A couple of medieval songwriters come up with the idea of chivalry one rainy day... and you embrace it as a lifestyle. You live and die by a code of honor that was trendy when you were a kid.
Duncan: Would you rather that I had no code of honor at all?
Methos: I would rather you survived. You put that first.

Duncan is resourceful, intelligent and patient. He is also chivalrous to a fault, sometimes sparring his enemy especially if it is a woman. He is fiercely loyal. Woe betide the person that threatens someone he cares about. His bravery is unparalleled; he’ll rush into a fight even if it seems hopeless, if he believes the cause to be just. He is often called a ‘Boy Scout’ for his sense of honor and duty. He tends to see things in black and white or Good and Evil without anything in between. He will protect the weak and innocent even at the expense of himself.

Fandom: Blake's 7
Character: Kerr Avon
Sorting: Slytherin

Avon: I am not expendable, I'm not stupid, and I'm not going.

Avon is highly intelligent and has a rapier wit, which would tend to place him in Ravenclaw. However, he is entirely self-serving, willing to sacrifice anyone to save himself. Cunning, shrewd and resourceful, he tends to weigh all options before making a decision. His ambition knows no bounds, when we first meet him he had just tried to embezzle five hundred million credits from the banking system. He is extremely clever, has no use for anyone’s rules but his own and is very determined. Once he sets his mind on doing something, it’s near impossible to get him to change his mind.

I'd put. Avon in Ravenclaw rather than Slytherin. He's actually not sneaky enough, Blake was the manipulator rather than Avon.

Avon prized intelligence over ambition. He was more interested in safety than power. The money was in his words so he would be "so rich they wouldn't touch us".

I think I'd go for Ravensclaw for Avon too. Yes, Avon is selfish, but I think he's driven more by the desire for knowledge than ambition, going by how he investigates the Sopron during a battle, and says "All knowledge is useful".

I've never seen Blake's 7, so I can't comment on that, but sorting Duncan into Gryffindor is spot on. And Methos would totally be in Slytherin. :D

Methos is more Slytherin than the most Slytherin Slytherin (so there!)
