Sort of. There's not a big cliffhanger or anything and since there won't be anymore we can choose to ignore what the writers have said was going to happen and take the ending as it stands, which actually leaves it sort of 'happily-ever-after'.

Oooo, I didn't follow along with the spoilers. What were they planning and what actually happened in the end, if you don't mind my asking?

It's a bit difficult to explain, not knowing how much of the show you saw, but...

What does happen:
Michael figures out who caused the accident and that Captain Harper was involved. He solves the case but in order to do so he has to let go of the 'red world'. At the end he's talking to Dr. Evans and trying to convince himself that maybe everything was a dream. When he does that he 'wakes up' and both his wife an son are there.
The last scene is of Michael standing in the kitchen with both Rex and Hannah.

What would have happened:
Had there been a second season we would have learned that that last scene wasn't real and he's still stuck in the same sort of limbo of living in both worlds.

I think I saw all of one episode, but we'd decided it was a keeper. I'm still in January with most of my TV viewing!

That's a cool ending. I was thinking maybe he was actually the one who had died. Sort of a Lost-esque ending.
